Melting Heat

It's disgustingly steamy here. I can feel the temperature change downstairs in the kitchen to upstairs where I'm currently feel like a pork bun. Thankfully, it's gonna be more comfortable towards the weekend. Ok, before I ramble about the annoying hazy weather, here are few sketches:

a fallen angel; I use to draw lots of 'em back in high school (ew, so emo).

character concept for an illustration class; she is called the "Sea Lady" and her octopus friend is exhausted because she keeps tryin' to eat him.

potentially a demon.

I felt like drawing a battered face; also, the word "corn hole" wouldn't leave me head at the time.

Sorry for those of you who likes the band, Korn. I just can't get into them. My Pandora doesn't believe me no matter how many times I hit the "dislike" button since I have other bands like Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Tool, and System of the Down listed.

Off to see some monsters (River Monsters finale and Monster-in-Law premier)!

First Sketches

Obviously, I'm not going to post all my sketches since my last post on my old blog, so here are some recent sketches I deemed "acceptable to post".

self-portrait

what usually ends up in my sketchbook when I'm ignoring a lecture: character portraits, creepy eyes, some animal, LOTS of weird text, and strange objects.

copies of Steward Klonis; very helpful drawings for sculpting the figure on paper.

"Bubble Head Nurse" from Silent Hill: Homecoming; I was mainly intrigued by her sexy pose and breast physics.

potential new  "Hair Monster" piece.

what inspired  this piece. It's strange working with these creatures because in my mind, they start human and become a hybrid; however, when they unravel, there's nothing left of them, but their hair.

Okay, that wraps up my first sketch post. Time to take an ice cream break with the boyfriend (yes, at 12:50 AM). Ahh, it's good to upload sketches again!

First Post

Welcome to my new sketch blog! I don't know what changed with Blogger/Blogspot, but it's so much easier to handle. My old blog is a bit outdated and frankly, I'm sick of coding. However, I won't be abandoning my art blog. I may neglect it, but I won't abandon it. Now that I know uploading on this blog is so much simpler, I need to save up for a bigger scanner for realz; I like my 11"x14" sketchbooks too much (if you follow me on Twitter, all my wish list hash tags involve a large scanner).

Anyways, before I ramble off, quick (not really) digital doodle. Originally, it was suppose to be my blogger userpic, but I couldn't find a satisfying way to crop it. I usually end up disliking my self-portraits of any kind anyways.

over and out.
