Characters Welcomed

Trying to fight another itis, my boyfriend and I are such savages at buffets. I feel somewhat accomplished when I make multiple posts once in a while. Onward with sketches, before I get too distracted by House.

I can't spell her name correctly to save my life. Here is "Saoirse", an original character by Laura Spicer. We promised each other an art trade where we are not only each other's character, but also giving them a buddy or mate. She'll be challenging my "Lady Dog". These sketches are just studies, but they were a lot of fun.

More "Hair Monster" ideas that I'd like to move on a grander scale. Although I got more wall space to work with, thanks to moving in with the boyfriend, I still haven't gotten full license to poke a bunch of holes in them. Before that, I gotta finish two commissions... I miss drawing big.

Forever 21 "Cutout OmbreĆ© Pullover" that I was tempted to buy but (I guess, thankfully) could not afford. They sold in a heartbeat anyways. Apparently, cutout shirts are "in" this season. I've been trying to make my own, but my t-shirt reconstructions have been unsuccessful thus far.

Little Digital Experiments

Some digital drawings I found in my files. I figured I'll post these experiments before I scrap 'em. Apparently, I draw a lot of bunnies wearing (same) blue dresses when I'm doodling on the computer.

I downloaded these cool pencil brushes. They're pretty sweet!

Attempting line art without the pen tool... FAIL. I colored her in to make the mistakes look a less severe. I like this brush setting though. It's soft and painterly.

Hard brush with a canvas texture, not a huge fan. It looks too bumpy.

A more recent unfinished bunny sketch. I like this style a lot since I get to go back and forth between drawing and painting. I need to learn how to draw proper backgrounds instead of copping out with gradients of colors.

I relearned how to use the pen tool and wanted to make a fake screencap. Gill and Santi (Santiago) from my secret webcomic project. Other sketches of them can be found here and here. I really do want to make this webcomic a reality, but my writing is suffering. I want my characters and story to be 100% before I draw anything.

A mini self-portrait done to experiment with the way I painted on Photoshop.

I liked the process in my mini self-portrait, so I decided to try it out with a different subject. I don't know if I'll ever finish this "Octolady", so posting what I have now.

Splash of Color II

It is FREEZING in New England today. Random color studies from paintings to doodles, but mostly doodles.

Part of this series. Acrylic color study for a painting I did for the boyfriend.

Yes, a "Bitch Pudding" fanart for the hell of it.

I'll definitely be uploading more digital experiments soon.

Pencil Doodlings + A Crayon

Fighting through a food coma to make a post... GO!!

"Hair Monster" ideas that I should be transferring onto a larger scale. I got the landlord's O.K. to punch holes in the walls, so I should at least unleash my monstrous roll of paper.

Warm-up sketches. I love drawing my "BUUUUUU~~" boxes.

Crayon drawing during an emissions test. I got carried away with this doodle and missed my free coffee opportunity.

Pen Doodlings

It's about time I made an update here. As if having a daily gray weather wasn't bad enough, it's starting to snow slush. For those of you living in warm, tropical areas, consider yourselves lucky—there is nothing romantic about winter.

Sketches of cephalopods I did for a series of paintings. See how I painted my Nautilus on my art blog. If any nerds picked up the reference, the cuttlefish was inspired by this guy.

Manikins stored in the Forever 21 back room. Boutiques should start making ball-jointed dolls for display. It'd be easier to dress and move around. The subtle, life-like gestures they can recreate is amazing! Even this deviantART celebrity uses it for reference.

Walt Disney quotes for a commission. Random eyes giving blank stares for no reason.

Miscellaneous doodles of thoughts and song lyrics. Mainly from "September's Children (Make It Stop)" by Rise Against. No joke, the music video makes me cry like a little bitch every time I watch it. My fangirl heart throbs when I hear songs with all-too-relatable topics.

Finally, a kitty cat drawing for my friend and co-worker, Alicia.
BITCHES BE TRIPPIN'.
